Together Again

We play these parts
when the struggle seems too hard.
We even brag,
then send ourselves off
with other strangers
hoping to be seen along our actions
while hearts break
in constant interruption.

I’m eager to be someone again,
someone who’s been there
and hasn’t done it
for any other reason than that,
and in that place,
the pieces will either fit,
or at least share
a few things in common.
