Closer

All I should do
is run after the cut,
the main one
that lets it all out
in floods that can count
between splashes
that spit, humping out
until you’re gone.
I want to
run circles around the outline
while that swell collects
and everyone realizes
that the only one
with blood-stained hands
is the only one
who tried to help
save a life.
