3/30 Ramifications

I have these hours

where I can see

all the other lives I could have lived

where every moment of choice

and every decision I’ve made

rippled out

other decisions for me,

as if I were always shaking hands

with the acquaintance of a friend,

losing myself

in rehearsed conversations

and blanketed

by safety nets.
